Commonly Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance:
Hope To Healing Counseling accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield and Medicare insurances. We also accept private pay service. Many insurances offer 'out-of-network' benefits that will still cover a large portion of your services. In this case, I can provide you with a 'Superbill' that you will give to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Contact your insurance company to find out how much they reimburse or any other insurance questions.
In addition to private pay, Medicare is accepted. Please contact for further questions as many who carry this insurance also have a supplemental to Medicare. If this is the case, we will help you navigate the insurance to verify that Medicare can be taken by this Tulsa Counselor.
What is the investment for therapy?
Therapy is just that, an investment to a happier, healthier you. The investment cost for a 50 minute session is $125 for individual and family therapy and $150 for couples therapy. If you are wanting a longer time, that is available upon request for private pay individuals. Those options include a 80 minute session at $187 and 110 minute session at $250.
What is your cancellation policy:
I have a 24 hour cancellation policy where any missed or canceled appointment will be charged the rate of the session.
Are sessions confidential:
In most cases (see 'exceptions to confidentiality below) communications between client and therapist will be held in strict confidence-unless you provide your therapist written permission to release information about your treatment. If you participate in family therapy, the therapist will not disclose confidential information about treatment to third party unless all treatment participates (18 and older) provide written authorization to release information.
Exceptions to Confidentiality
Therapists are legally mandated to report all known or suspected instances of child abuse, dependent adult abuse and elder abuse to the appropriate authorities. Therapists are also required to notify the police as well as intended victim if it is determined that a client presents a serious danger of physical violence to another person. A therapist may break confidentiality when he believes a client is likely to be dangerous to him or herself.
Will you provide a court report or any other report:
Yes, my fee for work related to a legal situation (i.e. attorney calls, writing reports, testimony preparation & court appearances) will be billed at $100/hr.
What is the structure of sessions:
All sessions are 50 minutes long. First sessions will include gathering information, completing any incomplete intake paperwork, and discussing client goals for therapy.
What are the therapist availability & emergency procedures:
You may leave a message anytime for me on my voicemail. I check messages frequently throughout the day and will return messages as soon as possible. On weekends and holidays, I check my messages less frequently and will only return emergency calls. My practice does not have capacity to respond to true emergencies. If you have a true emergency, please call 911.
